That only applies to some RPs. The more widely accepted form of RP is one where you make a character up yourself.

you come up with a character and describe what he/she looks like, what the history is for the character, personality, special traits important to the RP. Normally the person in charge will provide an empty example with whatever you need to fill in.

Thx ^^ I suppose I'll have to start paying a lil more attention to the RPs to understand it more. Since it seems to be very popular.

I wouldn't really know if it's popular. I tried it like twice and that was it. I'm not much of an RP'er
