Just curious, but does anybody know the strength of the sever that runs this site compared to the new site by any chance?
It's just a random thought but if this site could handle a majority of what crashes the sever for the new site, wouldn't it be best to try an redirect all that traffic during the B3 releases to here? This way the new site stays up an running without crashing and all those who just mostly pop in for new releases can come here to discuss away whatever till they decide to come back next week?

Narubi Wrote:To be fair I'm not so against Unohana being the first Kenpachi, since it does give her some interesting character by the fact of her going from a blood lusting beast to "Mother". However the only thing that makes her being the first Kenpachi bad is what Kubo just did this latest chapter. The transformation really just seems unrealistic -- from psychopathic killer to den mother. But that's the least of my gripes, I can live with it fine. Also, centuries is a long time for someone to re-invent themselves.
Let's just say, I expected her to be a somewhat crude person in the past but not a lover of killing. As for your last statement, essentially, just this whole dynamic with Zaraki and her that could have been so much better and more logically.
Quote:An I really don't think she's above Yama or Aizen in terms of power an that, but the wording used lately just seems to make things confusing in understanding the power rankings as of late. However if Kubo is trying to make it Unohana > Yama and thus Kidpachi > Unohana > Yama despite Yama's own claims and hype he's recieved before his death ..... I'm just going to think Kishi took over for Kubo (or infected him at least) since that would be the same thing Kishi did with Hiruzen by hyping him up as the "God of Shinobi" and the strongest of the Hokage as well of the current Kages, yet only to not seem so by the display of power from those of the Sandaime Kages generation as well some of the Yondaime's ... not to forget the hype of his two predecessors (especially Hashirama).
That's the Kenpachi title in general. Calling them the strongest with a person like Yama-jii present, and no one knew the power Aizen possessed till he started making moves. It begs the question: how strong was the Kenpachi Zaraki defeated, Kiganjō ?
Yama-jii's feats > everyone (barring the likes of Hogyoku Aizen and FGT Ichigo). But I'm less worried with Unohana and more what possessed Kubo to go forward with this Kidpachi (if we're calling him in the past that now) story.
Well, Hiruzen is understandable though. Old age crippled him far more than any other older character -- it was affirmed by Orochimaru, Emna, and the ANBU captain watching. Not to mention, Kishi has stirred away from ever showing him in action at his prime. Youngest we saw him in action was during the Kyubi Incident flashback, and he was already in his later 50s and having medical problems. I actually think Kishi is at a loss as to how to properly portray prime Hiruzen without falling short and thus won't do it. God of Shinobi is a title with massive implications of how scary prime Hiruzen was, can't blame him. Also, Sandaime Raikage, Muu, and the 2nd Mizukage never lived to the age that Hiruzen did. This is actually somewhat different than the situation with Unohana, since age isn't a major fact for Shinigami.
Quote:Have to agree, this is like having start of the series Kid Goku being able to best Saiyan Saga Vegeta without all his training from Roshi, Kami, and Kai. All of which seems so unbelievable and really cheap.Very much so.
Quote:I wouldn't mind seeing flashbacks of the First Generation of Cpt.'s as well the past events of the Quincy eradication, especially if it means we see something out of younger Yama and Unohana. At this point is Isshin is one of the first gen .... then it's going to not have that great of an effect on me honestly.Though I doubt we'll learn of all the first captains, I hope we learn the name of a few of them. Osho, I'd imagine, was probably one of the founding captains.
Quote:I mean all this time the name Kurosaki has been thrown around the oldest Cpt.'s and yet nothing out of them about maybe somebody they once knew who had that same surname (as well about the whole Getsuga Tenshou attack which Isshin has as well as Ichigo), and nothing from the RG (who I thought for the longest he was a part of), not to mention we have Mayuri with his known spying methods an yet nothing out of him since we can be sure he's seen Isshin already.Because Isshin's a Shiba -- at least, the chance is there. I'm holding that he changed his surname at some point. I doubt Mayuri knows anything about him. Also, have the senior captains actually seen Ichigo use GT? The RG haven't.
So for it all to sudden come out like "Hey yeah we know your pops from the old days, it just never crossed our minds to think about it much till now .. ya know", would just feel really cheap at this point.
Anywho, the main issue of the last chapter was this Kidpachi business.

I'm actually happy that Unohana isn't some complete monster or narrow-minded killer. It would've made her rational and controlled character irrelevant and completely wasteful.
What makes me laugh is the fact that every instance Kubo's had of putting the spotlight on Kenpachi just screams of "MOAR GODPACHI". I joked before on how it's his pandering to fans and that novel, but this is. . . getting interesting, to say the least.
GodKidPachi, lol.

It should have been the other way around with their power struggle. Zaraki, though inexperienced and untrained, managed to give Unohana a pretty decent fight and at his limit, he managed to land that strike on her (funny how Unohana practically let him land that first strike btw...).
Unohana comes to realize that with time and training, Zaraki will surely come to surpass her. Zaraki, realizing this on an unconscious level, begins to place the shackles on that potential so he will not get to the point where he could outright defeat the foe who could give him his most pleasurable battle.
Unohana maintains her 'strongest' hype, Zaraki shows off his potential to become godly, and things actually make some sense.
Instead, we have a kid being stronger than the experienced "strongest of the strongest" Kenpachi who has mastered all known styles and has Captain class Reiatsu. The power levels have only been furthered skewed and make Ichigo seem rather pointless. Just unlock all of Zaraki's potential and unleash him on the enemy.

Oh yeah, seems you were right, M1hawk. I admit defeat. Though, I'm thinking it has more to do with Zaraki than anything else.
